Service is not a box to check for us
Everything we do in PASTA is driven by our passion for helping kids. We aren’t here to fulfill a volunteer requirement or to rack up more service hours, but to change the way the world cares by expanding the societal boundaries of volunteerism and leading that movement through passion-driven service.
Here at PASTA, YOU choose! Our mission is simple- kids helping kids in the community. Beyond that, your passions and talents drive your project-based service.
We know you want to help, but where to start?
As a member of PASTA, you have access to mentors, educational resources, and leadership training to help you dive in. But once you’re here, the PASTA community of change-makers will ignite your desire to serve- and that is what we’re after.
We want you to fall in love with service and learn essential skills along the way. As a student-led organization, our members have an unmatched opportunity to learn the ins and outs of running a business, managing a chapter, organizing and leading projects, working with a team, speaking with community partners, and gaining the soft skills to propel them to success after high school.
It's easy to take action!
Here at PASTA, we equip our members with all the resources necessary to take action on causes they are most passionate about. This has engrained a mindset of serious doing within our members, empowering them to see problems as opportunities to BE the change.
I love that PASTA allows students to really take charge and make a positive impact in the community, instead of relying on others to make a difference.
PASTA is redefining community service
Members collaborate together in chapters to create and implement projects that will help kids in their community. It’s student-inspired and student-led. It’s about running a non-profit and becoming a leader. It’s about character and compassion, and learning how to help. And, it all started with 12 kids sitting in a basement wondering if they could make a difference. It’s about the future. It’s about Changing the Way the World Cares.
How do I join?
Gather a group of 4-6 friends to start your own chapter! We encourage each chapter to identify problems facing kids in their community, then use their passions and talents to solve it with a project. Are you a musician? Start a free music-lesson program! Do you love art? Hold a free art class at the local YMCA! Do you enjoy exercising? Plan a family field day!
It’s that easy! Form a group, find issues facing kids in your community, and take action! As a new chapter, you will be mentored by another PASTA member from around the country, and we will provide you with the resources necessary to turn your passions into impactful projects.

Tip: If you are interested in starting a PASTA chapter, the first step is finding 3-5 students who want to join you.
